📋 Description

• Report and write stories, and shoot photos for digital and print audiences • Tailor content to meet digital and print platforms' varying needs • Develop local story ideas daily and pivot quickly to other newsroom priorities • Use social media and digital tools to identify breaking news and real-time audience interests • Cultivate sources to break stories and help set the news agenda • File video clips for digital platforms • Work with digital teams to create interactive content and multimedia elements

🎯 Requirements

• Journalism school graduate or candidate from a related field • Newsroom experience is an asset • Ability to quickly layer and prioritize needs to move up a learning curve • Ability to write effectively in breaking news, features and short form • Ability to write non-traditional story formats such as explainers and Q/As • Experience and strength in video or podcast presentation is an asset • A valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle are assets
