• Maintain and repair contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment • Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects • Travel daily and work independently at customer sites • Provide 24x7 on-call services as required • Install and replace batteries • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on contracted equipment • Maintain customer contact and interface • Communicate availability status to the corporate office • Use electronic and electrical test equipment • Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors • Maintain the company vehicle in safe and operational condition • Complete Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other required reports accurately and timely • Maintain technical documentation • Attend company-required training • Cross-train in other areas as needed
• Level II Technician requires three years of field experience servicing generator systems • Some experience servicing 500kW+ systems • Proficiency with preventative maintenance • Experience retrofitting basic controls • Experience with minor ATS repairs and loadbanking equipment • High School diploma or GED equivalent, related military experience, or equivalent field experience • Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming, and replacement of failed engine components • Operational and functional understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems, with ability to troubleshoot and repair with minimal direction • Ability to read electronic schematics and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems to the component level with guidance • Experience with or ability to quickly learn Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC controls • Ability to interpret technical, safety, service, and policy documentation • Basic mathematical ability • Problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, and valid-conclusion skills • Must observe all safety standards • Computer fluency, including ERP systems, email, and Microsoft Office • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Attention to detail and process orientation • Ability to work collaboratively • Willingness and ability to attend required training • Own and maintain a personal set of mechanical tools • Ability to travel out of market/state up to 25% of the time • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20–75 pounds • Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck for up to 10 consecutive hours • Must wear required PPE • Must pass pre-employment background check, drug testing, and MVR clearance
