📋 Description

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, owning output, technical decisions, career development, and priorities • Guide technical decisions and support diligent architectural decision-making • Collaborate with engineering leaders, product management, design, and customer success to deliver the roadmap • Clarify requirements, remove ambiguity, and make scoping decisions for in-flight work • Own team execution from planning and prioritization through delivery • Ensure commitments are met and blockers are resolved quickly • Own support escalations and partner with customer success to triage, prioritize, and resolve production issues • Ensure timely, high-quality feature delivery through scope management and creative problem-solving • Own testing results and quality gates • Partner with DevOps to maintain and improve build pipelines and CI/CD processes • Drive code quality, testing, and engineering best practices • Measure and improve team KPIs • Track cycle time, WIP, and velocity to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and building the engineering team • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience leading engineering teams within SaaS software companies • Direct management experience with engineers at varying levels of seniority • Demonstrated track record of developing talent and retaining high performers • Working knowledge of at least one of: Elixir, React, React Native, or AWS • Hands-on experience leading Agile or Kanban/Lean sprint teams • Measurable improvements in velocity, quality, or delivery timelines • Experience scoping, planning, and shipping software at a consistent cadence • Experience building and refining supporting engineering processes • Ability to set clear goals and expectations, track progress, and course-correct • Experience managing projects end-to-end in ambiguous or fast-moving environments • Strong communication skills and experience translating technical context for non-technical stakeholders • Experience advocating for engineering needs cross-functionally • Familiarity with instrumentation, observability, and tooling practices • Comfort operating in a startup or high-growth environment • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Must answer whether employment sponsorship is currently or potentially required
