📋 Description

• Manage Proof's data team and report to the Chief Product Officer • Develop the team, guide technical decisions, and work directly with clients while the team handles most implementation • Own enterprise reporting, including requirements, report content, accuracy, delivery, service expectations, scope, timing, and tradeoffs • Own client relationships and ensure customers receive the data they need • Lead and develop the data team through goal-setting, coaching, feedback, and growth • Set priorities, plan capacity, balance client commitments with reporting improvements, review queries and data models, resolve difficult problems, and make SQL or code changes when useful • Own approaches to pipelines, shared models, internal BI, and SQL tooling with standards for quality, monitoring, and access • Partner with Engineering on data movement from the warehouse into downstream systems • Turn data into business insights for performance analysis, opportunity identification, and decision-making • Work with Product and Engineering on data for internal tools and AI systems • Improve automation and tooling with Business Operations, including low-code automation and build-versus-buy decisions • In the first six months, improve report accuracy, delivery reliability, turnaround, shared models, automation, team independence, and data-driven business priorities

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data, analytics, or reporting, including 3+ years managing a data or analytics team • Experience developing people, building scalable processes, and improving delivery • Experience leading client discovery and explaining technical tradeoffs in plain language • Experience delivering data into client systems through recurring extracts or agreed file formats • Experience investigating and resolving reconciliation issues • Strong SQL proficiency and data-modeling knowledge • Familiarity with Python or similar scripting • Willingness to continue developing technical skills • Experience with production data systems and automation, including data warehouses, pipelines, and BI tools • Experience making practical build-versus-buy decisions • Experience with complex enterprise workflows is helpful, including legal technology, financial operations, legacy systems, EDI, and file-based exchanges • Curiosity, agency, and ability to quickly learn the business • Must be located in Canada
