📋 Description

• Develop design criteria for structural engineering and site/civil design for substations and power delivery facilities • Design standard-shape steel structures, tubular steel structures, fire walls, and related facilities • Design drilled pier, shallow/pad, and spread footing foundations • Perform grading and drainage design • Design access roads, including paved and unpaved sections, vehicle maneuvering models, and haul road analysis • Specify and design retaining walls, perimeter walls, fences, and gates • Design water storm drawings • Specify and interpret hydrology studies • Support planning studies, system protection engineering, and high-voltage design projects for renewable and utility power facilities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering • 5+ years’ civil engineering experience required • P.Eng. license is required • US PE license may be required • Experience with ACAD Civil 3D preferred • Ability to learn and apply Visual Analysis, STAAD.Pro, Risa, LPILE, MFAD, and CAISSON • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and design tools • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong organization and planning skills • Ability to work in a team environment • Commitment to quality and accuracy • Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada • Must reside in Alberta or British Columbia, or be willing to relocate there • No work visa sponsorship provided • May be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking
