📋 Description

• Report to the Director of Engineering • Prepare complete Engineering proposals for high-voltage electrical, renewable energy, and utility projects • Evaluate RFP packages to determine scope, schedule, deliverables, constructability, and proposal requirements • Develop detailed EPC cost estimates for transmission, distribution, substation, generation, and industrial electrical projects • Support complete proposal submissions and ensure compliance with client requirements and internal standards • Collaborate with estimating, engineering, procurement, project controls, and other stakeholders on scope, pricing, execution plans, and schedules • Coordinate and attend site visits to gather field-level data and assess constructability • Prepare or support project execution plans, cost estimates, project schedules, safety and quality plans, ITP plans, risk registers, assumptions, clarifications, optional pricing, alternate proposals, and executive summaries • Engage subcontractors and vendors to secure pricing and confirm scope alignment • Review client commercial terms and coordinate risk assessment and compliance documentation • Maintain estimate basis records throughout proposal development • Facilitate internal estimate review meetings and final bid submission reviews • Conduct formal estimate hand-off meetings with Project Management after contract award • Assist with change orders and scope adjustments • Participate in project close-out and post-mortem reviews • Support CRM tracking of proposal status, client interactions, and business development metrics • Submit administrative documentation, including daily timesheets • Support continuous improvement in estimating processes and proposal quality

🎯 Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; certification as a Journeyperson Electrician or Power Systems Electrician is considered a strong asset • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within the electric utility or EPC sectors • Experience with renewable, distribution, and substation projects considered an asset • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor productivity • Experience using estimating software such as Hard Dollar or equivalent • Experience with digital take-off tools such as Bluebeam • Ability to develop project schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint • Proficiency with document management software such as SharePoint • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, procurement, construction, and project management functions • Proven ability to coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders • Ability to articulate estimate assumptions, risk considerations, and commercial impacts to technical and non-technical audiences • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines • Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently and as part of a larger team • Required to complete pre-employment screening, including professional reference checks and a criminal record check
