• Complete assigned Business Intelligence development work • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide leadership for design, development, configuration, testing, implementation, maintenance, and security of reporting applications • Administer Business Intelligence applications, including upgrades, patching, configuration, and directory/security administration • Support infrastructure administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance for BI applications • Develop strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery • Develop SQL queries and modifications for problem resolution and reporting • Lead requirements and design sessions for report development • Lead development teams and review report specifications • Translate business requirements into secure reports, dashboards, visualizations, and report objects • Validate audit, reconciliation, data quality, and reporting processes • Develop and maintain security architecture, security administration, and workflow automation • Execute unit tests and coordinate test plans, test data, and integrated testing • Design and deliver executive, functional, research, financial, and University-wide reports • Develop reporting solutions that interact with cloud-based solutions • Design, develop, and implement complex dashboard reports and visualizations for data warehouses and Clarity • Analyze complex information from senior management and end users to develop reporting systems • Coordinate with programmers and analysts to achieve solutions • Mentor team members and lead change management and reporting training • Present seminars, courses, and computer-services instruction as required
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience developing reports and dashboards with one or more Business Intelligence tools required • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required • Customer-oriented problem-solving approach required • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines required • Ability to contribute as an individual and technical lead across multiple business environments • Ability to interface with user communities and translate business needs into solution requirements • Experience with Power BI, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, IBM Cognos, or Tableau • Experience in higher education, medical, or healthcare industry preferred • Experience with Agile project management methodologies preferred • Five years of Student, HCM, and Finance reporting experience preferred • Experience in Oracle on Unix DBMS environment preferred • Experience with EPIC reporting preferred • Proficiency with IBM Cognos and Tableau preferred • Ability to learn new technologies quickly preferred • Knowledge of expressions and business logic within an object-oriented environment preferred • In-depth SQL programming experience preferred • Ability to provide on-call support as needed preferred • Certified Tableau Specialist preferred upon hire • Workday Report Writer curriculum certificate preferred upon hire • Epic Clinical Data Model and/or Epic Revenue Data Model may be required within 12 months of hire
