📋 Description

• Produce complex simulations (smoke, fire, explosions, fluids, destruction, magical or abstract effects) in accordance with artistic and technical direction. • Use Houdini efficiently (Pyro, FLIP, RBD, Vellum, SOPs) to create optimized, adaptable effects. • Maintain a high level of autonomy in managing assigned FX tasks, from initial setup through final render. • Ensure rigorous quality control of files, caches and workfiles before any submission. • Propose simple, effective artistic solutions that align with the project's vision. • Actively participate in dailies and incorporate feedback constructively. • Adapt effects to narrative needs, visual style and scene pacing. • Enhance shots by bringing creative added value to simulations. • Ensure cache optimization, setup stability and adherence to internal technical conventions. • Quickly identify technical issues and provide functional solutions. • Verify the compatibility of effects with other departments (layout, lighting, comp).

🎯 Requirements

• Prior experience in FX at a VFX studio (minimum 10 years recommended). • Excellent command of Houdini (Pyro, FLIP, RBD, Vellum, SOPs). • Basic knowledge of compositing (Nuke) and rendering (Arnold and Karma). • Knowledge of USD and Solaris. • Strong sense of motion, physics and visual rhythm. • Rigour, autonomy, attention to detail and team spirit. • Asset: familiarity with Flow Production Tracking, experience developing Houdini tools, Python scripting or VEX.
