📋 Description

• Design and evolve IAM foundations for AI Agents, including agent identity, permission guardrails, and enterprise-grade audit systems. • Design and build authentication and authorization systems that are reliable, standards-based, and performant for millions of global users. • Propose and implement technical solutions, guide system architecture, and ensure features are integrated across the stack (frontend, backend, databases, APIs, AI agents). • Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering to solve complex, cross-functional risk and governance challenges. • Support and develop engineers on the team through code reviews, design discussions, and career development. • Contribute to our culture and maintain an inclusive, collaborative and supportive work environment where all Samsara employees can grow and thrive. • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production software using modern engineering practices. • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM systems, threat models, and mitigations. • Strong programming/coding fundamentals in a language such as Java, Python, or Golang • Experience designing and operating highly reliable, scalable distributed systems. • Experience building security-sensitive or identity-related systems in production. • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience. • Strong communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
