• Partner with subject-matter specialists to uncover needs, define performance and learning objectives, design solutions, oversee development, and coordinate implementation • Provide client-facing learning consulting for internal and external instructor-led training initiatives supporting the Nuclear Power Group • Conduct intake/scoping calls, workshops, focus groups, and other learning needs analysis activities • Analyze tasks, skills, critical mistakes, learner journeys, audience profiles, and performance objectives • Summarize insights in client-facing reports and presentations • Design learning solution proposals, curriculum maps, course outlines, modalities, sequencing, instructional strategies, and archetypes • Map connections, scaffolding, and key themes across programs and courses • Design practical exercises and activities aligned with learning objectives and realistic tasks • Leverage technology and equipment, including MS Teams features and lab equipment, to enhance interactivity • Design evaluation plans and measures to assess training effectiveness • Develop and present client-facing solution proposals • Define activity archetypes and create playbooks for scalable instructor-led training design and development • Oversee sustainable program implementation • Coordinate implementation administrators, facilitators, and stakeholders • Identify and mitigate execution risks and error traps • Lead collaborative workshops with internal and external stakeholders • Guide project team members in applying instructional best practices • Provide handoffs and collaborate with Training team members responsible for detailed design, development, and implementation • Gather and implement feedback from peers, NPG stakeholders, subject-matter specialists, external clients, and learners • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend continuous improvements • Coordinate validation of solution appropriateness, business alignment, and technical accuracy • Serve as primary point of contact for project stakeholders • Lead assigned projects through the entire project cycle • Create and manage schedules, review and approval workflows, status updates, and scope • Maintain accurate version control • Travel occasionally to Chicago, regional offices, and client locations
• 8 or more years of experience as a Curriculum Designer, Training Specialist, Instructional Designer, Performance Consultant, Training Program Manager, or similar position • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, Adult Education, Engineering, or related field • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong attention to detail • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills • Strong relationship-building skills • Ability to work with templates and adhere to style guidelines • Proficiency in ADDIE, SAT, or performance-based models of training development • Ability to independently take vague/undefined performance problems, define a systematic approach to uncovering needs, and develop a solution vision • Experience working with highly technical, complex, regulated content • Experience designing large, multi-modality training solutions • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word • Candidates may be asked to submit work samples of needs analysis deliverables, solution designs, and evaluation results • Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position
