📋 Description

• Work in a project team environment with engineers and other designers on high- and extra-high-voltage substation design • Prepare substation general arrangement drawings • Prepare substation electrical equipment plans • Prepare substation section views/elevations • Prepare substation detailed bills of material • Prepare substation lightning stroke shielding plans • Prepare substation grounding plans • Prepare substation conduit, electrical connection, and grounding details • Prepare substation below-grade conduit/raceway plans • Prepare control building equipment, cable tray, lighting, grounding plans, and sections • Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables • Perform walkdowns at client facilities • Apply client standards related to the work

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of substation physical design experience • An Associate’s Degree in Drafting, or a high school diploma and 2 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation • Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design • Must be a citizen of a country listed in Appendix A to Part 810 of the Code of Federal Regulations if access to U.S. export-controlled information is required • Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor employees for work authorization in Canada
