📋 Description

• Secfix automates security compliance (ISO 27001, GDPR, TISAX, SOC 2) for SMBs in Europe. • Early-stage, fully remote startup growth stage with >$1M ARR and VC backing. • Senior Backend Engineer will shape and build products delivered to CTOs, COOs and engineering teams of SMBs. • Be the go-to person for backend in your product area and set technical direction with CTO/Tech Lead. • Collaborate with product, design and customers to identify, plan, design, build and ship features on schedule. • Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, debug, support, maintain and evolve features and code in production. • Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to accelerate development, debugging and testing. • Own and maintain product and technical documentation; mentor and support team members. • Follow company culture and communication guidelines and participate in virtual on-site and retreats.

🎯 Requirements

• 5-8 years of industry experience as a backend or product engineer (senior talent, 5+ years). • 1+ years of full-time production experience in Java (application requirement). • Strong object oriented programming fundamentals in Java. • Experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate (or equivalent). • Relational database design and SQL optimisation skills. • Testing, monitoring and troubleshooting experience. • Ability to design and build backend systems that scale in features and concurrent usage. • Experience owning features end-to-end from idea to production delivery. • Experience mentoring developers and performing code reviews. • Comfortable collaborating and communicating in a remote environment (strong written communication, Loom). • Comfortable working German timezone (application asks: Are you able to work in the German timezone?). • Previous experience with Golang and/or Typescript is a bonus. • Extensive experience with AI-powered engineering tools (Cursor, Claude) and ability to validate outputs.
