📋 Description

• Create and revise design drawings for high-voltage transmission and distribution substations • Produce site plans • Produce foundation plans and details • Produce structural steel plans and fabrication details • Peer review other designers’ drawings • Maintain archived, current, and working drawing revisions • Update drawings to field as-built conditions • Teach and mentor young designers and new employees on civil/structural design and company practices • Participate in developing and reviewing company standards and design tools • Provide project and office support as required • Travel occasionally to field sites or work at a client’s office as required

🎯 Requirements

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering/Technology preferred, but not required • 5+ years’ experience designing transmission-level substations (13.8kV–500 kV) • Experience with site plans, foundation plans and details, and structural steel plans and fabrication details • Good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work well with others in a team setting • Skilled in problem solving in time-sensitive situations • Advanced AutoCAD (2015 or later) required • MicroStation at advanced/intermediate level preferred • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills • Intermediate Microsoft Outlook skills • Ability to lift/move equipment up to 15 lbs • Typically 10% travel
