• Manage and coordinate electrical design, drafting, material procurement, construction, and commissioning on projects • Prepare technical documents including electrical drawings, SLDs, three lines, equipment and site layouts, cable and conduit schedules, electrical databases, technical specifications, and contract documents • Perform and verify electrical design calculations • Conduct power systems studies, including arc flash analysis, using ETAP and SKM • Work under supervision and review with senior engineering personnel on reports, studies, drawings, and design document reviews • Perform technical work on assignments of restricted scope and other duties directed by senior engineering personnel • Apply standard engineering methods and techniques to solve problems • Follow Spark Power and client safety protocols and procedures • Provide customer service to utility and industrial clients • Provide field support to construction management and site teams as required • Make project-work decisions based on established guidelines • Provide recommendations and technical input to senior engineering personnel • Coordinate with the internal drafting team • Work with team members to complete projects • Provide direction to and coordinate with internal drafting team
• Graduate of an accredited Electrical Engineering program • Registered as a P.Eng. with APEGA • Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code • Familiarity with international standards is advantageous • Proficiency with ETAP or similar software • Experience designing 120/208VAC, 480VAC, and 600VAC systems • Experience designing medium-voltage (4.16kV to 25kV) systems • Experience designing high-voltage (138kV to 240kV) systems • 4–8 years’ experience in utilities, processing, power generation, or mining • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in utilities, processing, power generation, or mining • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities • Completion of medical requirements to access certain client sites • Class 5 driver’s license including clean driving record • Quick learner with strong aptitude for acquiring new skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive initiative
