📋 Description

• Review and edit stories from brand and nonprofit newsroom clients for accuracy, style, and fit with Stacker's publisher network. • Work with clients on light revisions, clarifications, and factual questions to get stories syndication-ready. • Identify minor process inefficiencies in the editing pipeline and suggest improvements. • Prioritize and edit multiple stories at once to keep pace with a fast-moving, newswire publishing schedule. • Edit submitted brand and nonprofit newsroom stories to meet Stacker editorial guidelines and prepare them for syndication on the newswire. • Evaluate story newsworthiness and editorial integrity. • Communicate editorial standards and explain edits to clients. • Assess data methodology and flag issues in data-driven stories.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in journalism or a related field • History of maintaining high journalistic standards • Keen eye for storytelling • Ability to discern the newsworthiness and integrity of content from diverse sources • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate editorial standards to clients • Ability to address client needs and optimize stories for earned media pickup by newswire publishing partners • Ability to assess and address data methodology issues in submitted stories • Ability to prioritize editing multiple stories and maintain consistent throughput • Sharp eye for storytelling and strong grasp of journalistic standards • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented newswire environment • Nice-to-have: experience in content syndication, resyndication, or similar partnerships • Nice-to-have: familiarity working with brand partners and nonprofit newsrooms • Nice-to-have: understanding of local journalism coverage strengths, aspirations, and gaps • Nice-to-have: experience in personal finance, health, or real estate coverage and reviewing/editing data journalism
