📋 Description

• Design, construct, evaluate, and document networking features, connectivity solutions, and the open-source client-code network dataplane • Design, build, and oversee Tailscale’s global Funnel and DERP relay infrastructure • Promote operational excellence and automation for scalable, highly available, high-performing hosted services • Enhance Funnel and DERP relay infrastructures and associated network protocols • Investigate and resolve complex escalated network problems across diverse technical environments • Maintain live services through observability, incident management, and technical support escalations • Evaluate and improve performance, reliability, and scaling of networking systems • Provide architectural guidance and troubleshoot escalated customer networking issues • Collaborate with engineering and product teams on hosted services and clients • Apply security-focused practices throughout networking component development

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record in networking software development and troubleshooting • Expertise in VPNs, NAT traversal, routing, and IP addressing • Experience with distributed systems, global-scale services, and SRE & DevOps methodologies • Experience with Go is highly desired • Strong interpersonal skills and autonomy to work independently • Adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment • Superior written and verbal communication abilities
