📋 Description

• Scale and advance the company’s entire data infrastructure • Build data-related infrastructure and tooling • Collaborate with various teams to facilitate and improve their usage of data • Design, scope, and deliver large-scale projects with the team lead • Collaborate with engineers to improve team productivity and delivery • Help define the team’s technical roadmap toward strategic engineering goals • Mentor and develop other engineers and help shape the company’s engineering culture • Guide complex initiatives from requirements gathering and robust system design through deployment • Evaluate dependent technologies and collaborate with stakeholders • Build scalable data infrastructure and shape developer experience • Own data cataloging, versioning, and lineage for research and production workflows • Provide technical guidance to engineering and research staff

🎯 Requirements

• Computer Science / Engineering bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) • 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience • Proven track record of software design and implementation focused on correctness, robustness, efficiency, and scale • Experience working with large codebases and building modular, extensible, and maintainable software • Expertise in a modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++ • Hands-on experience developing in a Linux/UNIX environment • Experience designing and implementing scalable services and APIs, highly available systems, and/or large-scale data infrastructure • Experience with data storage and management technologies such as PostgreSQL, Artifactory, Ceph, or Redis • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas clearly and simply • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker strongly preferred • Familiarity with Iceberg, BigQuery, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Trino/Athena strongly preferred • Experience building data platforms with a developer-experience lens preferred • Familiarity with Airflow or Slurm strongly preferred • Legally authorized to work in the United States
