• Lead conceptual and detailed engineering design, execution, and implementation of medium-complexity capital projects • Develop conceptual and detailed engineering designs and cost estimates for capital projects supporting North American manufacturing • Develop construction scopes and bid packages for small to large capital projects • Coordinate and oversee equipment and system installation, checkout, and commissioning • Provide process support, troubleshooting, and optimization during startup • Lead training of manufacturing personnel, including operators, supervisors, QA, and maintenance, on key process operating parameters • Transition deliverables and documentation to Plant Operations and Maintenance staff • Develop manufacturing alternatives and processing solutions meeting business requirements • Generate and develop PFDs and P&IDs • Specify, select, and evaluate equipment and equipment suppliers • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for process-focused capital projects as needed • Lead multifunctional teams and make critical decisions under pressure and with limited information • Collaborate with engineering, plant, manufacturing, operations, safety, quality, regulatory, environmental health and safety, R&D, marketing, procurement, vendors, and other partners • May manage co-ops or interns, including interviewing and selection
• 3+ years of experience in process design typical for the food and pharmaceutical industry • Strong understanding of common process unit operations and equipment, sanitary design and construction practices, GMPs and food safety, and common equipment suppliers • Strong understanding of the design, application, and maintenance of process piping systems, food manufacturing equipment, and process automation and instrumentation • Demonstrated proficiency in food, pharmaceutical, or related industries, including manufacturing processes, construction practices, standards, and codes • Ability to prioritize solutions and develop schedules based on business objectives • Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills • Ability to execute projects in a timely manner • Strong leadership and decision-making ability • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills • Comfortable with change • Proficiency with MS Office programs • Minimum 4 years of experience in Food Processing, Confectionery, Pharmaceutical, or related industries • Process engineering, process design, and project management experience, including process troubleshooting and optimization • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Food, Agricultural, or another closely related Engineering field • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
