📋 Description

• Manage execution of operational, technical, and logistical aspects of remote-based sports television productions • Interpret, implement, and manage departmental standards for remote television broadcasts • Lead and coordinate event preparation and on-site oversight of remote broadcasts from start to finish • Oversee operational and technical aspects of assigned remote events • Provide guidance and training to Remote Operations staff, Operations Coordinators, and technical crew • Manage on-site personnel and ensure ESPN Workplace Conduct and Safety Policies are followed • Ensure technical and financial planning timelines are met • Create event-specific paperwork, including surveys, tech books, and post reports • Facilitate troubleshooting of complex technical, operational, and personnel issues • Oversee crew activity, including approval of time-entry, travel, and overtime • Address on-site crew performance issues as necessary • Attend assigned industry events • Assist in developing and implementing new technologies for assigned remote-based events

🎯 Requirements

• Requires regular travel to remote events, which could include international locations • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the year in accordance with sport schedules • Knowledge of organization, procurement, financial, and logistics planning related to show creation • Working knowledge of differing production models, signal flow, scalability, and transmission • Knowledge of developments in equipment technology and procedures • Strong interpersonal skills, including voice and email communication, and conflict resolution skills • Strong knowledge of the technical equipment requirements of ESPN’s remote operations functions • Knowledge of hiring and payment policies • Fluency in common computer-based software programs used for data compilation, information distribution and presentations • 7+ years of related technical and/or operational planning, on-site management, and procurement experience • Knowledge of technical software-based tools relevant to broadcast planning • Solid knowledge of comms workflow in relation to technical broadcast plan fulfillment • Established relationships throughout the broadcast industry in relation to third party vendors and clients • High School Diploma or Equivalent
