📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and grow Toptal’s team of solution architects • Set goals, provide feedback, and build a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning • Recruit, onboard, and retain solution architects • Define reference architectures, design patterns, and best practices for hybrid cloud and DevOps solutions • Review solution designs for quality, security, scalability, and cost-efficiency • Partner with Sales to assess client needs, define solution approaches, and shape proposals and technical presentations • Lead key client conversations and match architects to opportunities • Develop scalable offerings including hybrid cloud architecture and migration, landing zones, container platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD and DevSecOps, SRE and observability, and FinOps • Partner with Delivery to ensure successful implementation of designs • Guide engineering teams through complex technical decisions and support critical engagements • Plan team capacity, manage workload and utilization, and track pipeline support, win rate, and client satisfaction • Build relationships with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, VMware/Broadcom, Red Hat, and HashiCorp • Maintain team certifications and partner alignment • Stay current on hybrid cloud, platform engineering, and DevOps trends • Contribute to marketing content and thought leadership • Own architecture for strategic accounts and build proofs of concept • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Delivery, and Talent Operations • Develop relationships with organizational leaders and stakeholders • Assess market demand, existing talent, active engagements, and team development needs • Define the team operating model, architecture standards, and pre-sales engagement process • Build the team and drive revenue growth • Establish partner relationships and a hiring and talent plan

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required • 15+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering and architecture • At least 5+ years leading teams of solution architects or senior engineers within cloud or technology services • 3+ years managing a business or team • Preferably experience with P&L or budget responsibility • Proven track record overseeing financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, and driving profitability and growth • Proven experience leading and developing teams of solution architects or senior technical consultants • Proven ability to build and scale hybrid cloud and DevOps service offerings • Deep expertise in hybrid and multi-cloud architecture across AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) • Strong experience with data center and virtualization platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper-V • Experience with hybrid cloud technologies such as Azure Arc, AWS Outposts, and Google Distributed Cloud • Deep knowledge of containerization and orchestration, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker • Knowledge of serverless computing and microservices architecture • Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and automation frameworks such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Argo CD • Expertise in DevOps and platform engineering practices, including DevSecOps, SRE, observability, and DORA delivery metrics • Experience with cloud migration, application modernization, disaster recovery, and business continuity in hybrid environments • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and CIS • Knowledge of identity and access management, encryption, and policy-as-code • Knowledge of FinOps, cloud cost optimization, AI-enabled infrastructure and operations, and edge computing • Ability to develop relationships with enterprise clients and executives • Proven ability to lead collaboratively and operate in a high-growth environment • Skilled in articulating strategy with a strong, agile execution plan • Demonstrated success making data-driven decisions and defining key metrics • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies • Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company • Resumes and communication must be submitted in English • MBA preferred • Relevant certifications such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Architect; CKA/CKAD; Terraform Associate are a plus
