• Reporting to the Manager, Major Capital Construction Projects, responsible for effective management of major construction, renovation, and alteration projects • Develops and implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures • Manages a multidisciplinary team of contractors and consultants to implement major complex construction projects • Co-ordinates all documentation including correspondence from architects, engineers, building inspectors, and contractors • Provides technical expertise and project management skills on time, scope, budget and operational impacts of projects • Represents the City of Toronto Division at site meetings and technical committees • Inspects and supervises work in progress ensuring compliance with legislation and contract documents
• University degree in construction management, project management, architecture, engineering, or equivalent work experience • Extensive construction project management experience • On-site experience in managing new greenfield/brownfield construction and large renovation projects • Extensive experience in leading complex projects • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders • Excellent analytical, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills • Thorough knowledge of construction techniques, materials, lifecycle costing and building construction principles • Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint, advanced level in MS Project and Excel • PMP or PMI-CP, and/or LEED certifications are assets • Valid Province of Ontario Class 'G' driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for site visits
