📋 Description

• Perform software development activities related to existing and new product development • Liaise with customer technical staff and cross-departmental technical and clinical staff to understand requirements, design constraints, and product problems • Develop and document module designs • Code and implement software designs • Perform developer verification and validation according to Merge Standard Operating Procedures • Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members • Perform product development according to Merge methodology and practices • Conduct software module requirements analysis, design, test design, implementation, unit testing, verification, and validation • Prepare module specifications, designs, test descriptions, and estimates • Detect, report, investigate, and fix product defects • Assist with escalated customer support investigations • Review product engineering artifacts • Design, develop, and recommend next-generation platforms for cloud and on-premise deployments • Develop deployment systems for interdependent applications running on Linux and Kubernetes • Assist with product, engineering, and management plans and reports • Prepare technical reports and update system specifications and related development documentation • Conduct mentoring, peer reviews, design reviews, and code reviews • Interface with customers and Merative staff to gather requirements, present technical product aspects, and understand product problems • Collaborate with department members, managers, and staff across the organization • Participate in performance reviews and set product and personal development goals • Pursue self-development through reading, seminars, and continuing education • Identify and communicate work-process improvements • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of related experience in software development • An undergraduate or college degree or better in computer science or equivalent discipline, or equivalent level of industry related experience • Bash shell and Coreutils, Perl, Python, Go, Rust, and Java • Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, AKS, and OpenShift • Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms • Oracle database and SQL • Ability to work within an Agile development model • Ability to learn parts of a large, complex system • Complete knowledge and full understanding of area of specialization and large, complex system • OS/Technologies: Linux SuSE Operating system, Heartbeat and Pacemaker Clustering • Networking Technologies: VLAN, Switches, and Load Balancing • Storage Technologies: RAID, NAS, NFS, and SAN • Development Environments: Git, Jenkins, Make, and Gradle • Experience in DICOM and HL7 • Experience with software packaging with RPM • Experience in web application development/deployment platforms such as Apache and Tomcat • Flexibility to work in an Agile or Iterative development model • Knowledge, skills, training and experience in software-intensive systems • Knowledge, skills, training, and experience in software requirements and design engineering using a well-defined disciplined engineering process or methodology • Familiarity with Microsoft Office or other office automation/productivity software tools • Excellent oral and written communication skills
