📋 Description

• Design residential roof and floor systems and produce layouts • Discuss changes and corrections with engineers, architects, and contractors before and during construction • Present, sell, and follow up on new jobs • Prepare roof truss and truss joist floor layouts • Perform job site inspections • Produce materials lists • Determine special notes to append contracts • Resolve architectural and design discrepancies • Assist in the shipping department • Read and understand blueprints and detailed technical drawings • Use computers or other technical equipment to provide technically accurate customer-order layouts (takeoffs) • Adhere to local building codes and material constraints when developing material lists and design layouts • Produce final copies for contractor use for bathrooms, kitchens, decks, patios, and other assigned projects • Assist customers by providing accurate, timely, and thorough customer service • Measure and scale projects on-site • Invoice projects and schedule installation and delivery of products and materials • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School or GED required • Associate's Degree in civil, architectural or design related field may be required • Applicable work experience may be substituted for education requirement • 1 year of drafting experience in a construction or building materials-related industry required • 1+ year of roof/floor truss design experience required • Experience with Mitek software strongly preferred • Proficient technical writing skills • Excellent salesmanship and communication skills • Proprietary software, AUTOCAD, computer literacy, and ability to read technical drawings • Reading and interpreting blueprints in an architectural related industry • PC literacy with Microsoft Office products, AUTO CAD, and other design programs • Compliance with company policies, standards, workplace safety, and assigned trainings
