📋 Description

• Own the design and multi-quarter delivery of Vanta's enterprise organizational model • Build support for hierarchical product lines and business units, isolated data access and ownership, cross-cutting audit workflows, scoped approvals, and EU and GovCloud data residency • Define and evolve core platform abstractions for diverse and conflicting enterprise requirements • Retrofit a live production system toward a multi-tenant organizational structure • Design safe migration paths and sequence incremental delivery while preserving continuity for existing customers • Ship meaningful customer value each quarter through clear incremental deliverables • Engage directly with enterprise customers and apply product judgment • Drive execution across squads through technical clarity and credibility • Partner with Engineering leadership, Product, and Design on phased deliverables • Set technical standards, define reusable patterns, shape architecture across teams, and model engineering excellence

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of deep backend engineering experience • Track record of leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives in fast-paced, product-focused environments • Experience designing platform abstractions for conflicting enterprise requirements across a diverse customer base • Track record of shipping large, structurally complex problems incrementally • Experience operating effectively across squads and teams without direct ownership • Deep familiarity with tenancy models, role-based access control, data isolation, scoped permissions, cross-tenant operations, and access boundary design • Strong communication skills for explaining complex systems to engineering leadership, product partners, and customer-facing stakeholders • Data residency or GovCloud exposure is a plus • Openness to using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact
