📋 Description

• Lead integrated strategy across the United States and provide operational oversight of delivery teams across regions • Identify and advance strategic funding and financing opportunities • Coordinate with regional, functional, and organizational leadership on resource allocation and strategy • Serve as Village Capital’s senior representative for the regional-wide portfolio • Partner with communications, business development, finance, data and impact, and regional teams • Lead strategic stakeholder engagement and business development • Cultivate relationships with investors, foundations, corporations, governments, and funders • Partner on proposal development, donor reporting, pitch materials, case studies, and fundraising strategy • Own end-to-end delivery of entrepreneur support programs and investment initiatives • Oversee investment transactions, investment decisions, transaction structuring, due diligence processes, and investment frameworks • Allocate resources across initiatives and evaluate investment and entrepreneur-support effectiveness • Own budgets and expenditure priorities • Manage, coach, and develop geographically distributed teams, including staff and contractors • Build a culture of learning, accountability, and leadership development • Oversee ecosystem engagement, portfolio networks, investor relationships, and expert collaborator networks • Represent Village Capital at ecosystem convenings and working groups • Oversee thought leadership content and regional funder reporting

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of investment experience in banking, entrepreneurship, impact investing, or international development • Entrepreneur support and ecosystem development experience is a plus • Track record of building and running complex, multi-stakeholder lines of business at a high standard • Demonstrated business development experience, including developing fundraising strategy, shaping proposals, and stewarding multi-year funder commitments • Experience managing and developing distributed teams across cultures and geographies • Understanding of the early-stage investment landscape, including venture, blended, and philanthropic capital tools, structures, and language • Experience in the investment space from an entrepreneur or investor perspective • Impact investing, venture capital, private credit, or DFI experience preferred • Cultural fluency and day-to-day commitment to equity • Ability to operate strategically while staying close enough to spot risk early
