📋 Description

• Own key areas of the monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and variance analysis • Manage bank, cash, and other balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies • Reconcile financial activity across consumer financing, merchant payments, fees, refunds, and disbursements • Review vendor invoices, employee expenses, and credit card activity for accuracy, policy compliance, and proper GL coding • Prepare recurring financial and operational reporting for internal stakeholders and external partners • Support annual audits, tax requests, and related documentation • Investigate differences between operational systems and the general ledger and drive issues through resolution • Partner with Growth to understand business activity, support reporting needs, and translate initiatives into accurate, scalable accounting processes • Improve accounting processes using automation, Claude, and other AI-enabled workflows • Help design repeatable processes for new products, transaction flows, and accounting needs as Wisetack scales

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or a similar finance role • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field • Strong understanding of transaction flows through the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement • Experience owning reconciliations and supporting or managing portions of the monthly close • Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills and comfort working with detailed data sets • Ability to investigate discrepancies, connect information across systems, and drive issues to resolution • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to work independently • Experience using Claude or similar AI tools to automate workflows, analyze data, improve documentation, or increase accounting-process efficiency • Bonus: Experience in fintech, lending, payments, or another transaction-heavy environment • Bonus: Familiarity with loan accounting, including accrued interest or fair value • Bonus: Experience supporting financial statement audits • Bonus: Experience improving accounting systems, workflows, or internal controls • Bonus: Familiarity with SQL, databases, or APIs • Bonus: Experience using Python for data analysis, automation, or accounting workflows
