📋 Description

• Own and evolve cross-cutting platform systems covering approval workflows, permissions, authentication, and notifications • Apply architectural judgment to state management, data integrity, scalability, and backward compatibility • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts across teams consuming PANDA services • Decompose complex, ambiguous projects into actionable technical tasks and safe migration paths • Write performant, scalable, and secure backend code in Ruby on Rails • Design and optimize PostgreSQL data models and SQL queries • Participate in code reviews, including changes from other teams affecting PANDA-owned systems • Mentor and learn from fellow engineers and help raise the technical bar • Improve tools, processes, and best practices • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production issues

🎯 Requirements

• Full-stack engineering background building production web applications and APIs, ideally in Ruby on Rails • Strong architectural insight and ability to reason about tradeoffs and select appropriate abstractions in shared, cross-team systems • Experience on a platform, infrastructure, or enablement team • Experience building systems consumed by other teams • Experience balancing roadmap delivery with unblocking other teams • Bonus experience with approval workflows, role-based access control (RBAC), or identity/auth products such as Auth0 and session management in a multi-tenant SaaS product • Experience partnering across product teams that consume shared platform services • Comfort using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code • Beginning to build AI-enabled agents or MCP servers • Excellent communication skills • Comfortable working in two-week Agile/Scrum-style cycles • Ability to write, analyze, and optimize SQL queries; PostgreSQL is a plus • Customer-focused and detail-oriented approach • Ruby on Rails, StimulusJS, Redis, Sidekiq, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes experience/knowledge
