📋 Description

• Lead teams focused on integrations with partners, processors, and internationalization • Dramatically decrease the time required to integrate with external partners • Enable card launches when Affirm launches in new countries • Partner with engineering leaders to revolutionize team practices and shape engineering culture across Cards • Lead AI adoption while maintaining high quality standards • Collaborate with managers across the organization to create a psychologically safe team • Work with EU and US stakeholders to build scalable, reliable, and high-performing products • Shape best practices and guide architectural choices • Drive successful delivery of critical initiatives • Hire and grow engineering teams in Spain and Poland • Define technical direction, long-term technical roadmap, and strategic initiatives in Cards • Champion technical excellence alongside business results • Create and influence ownership culture focused on scale and efficiency • Mentor and lead managers and engineers

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience • 5+ years managing engineering teams • 2+ years managing managers • Experience leading a multi-team engineering organization through a multi-year technical strategy • Ability to break ambiguous requirements into deliverables that ship • Technical depth to guide architecture, reliability, and quality decisions across a portfolio of systems • Ability to make investment and prioritization decisions with incomplete consensus • Ability to explain strategy, risk, and tradeoffs to engineers, cross-functional partners, and executives • Experience growing managers into senior leaders • Experience building teams where diverse perspectives are included and valued on merit • Either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
