📋 Description

• Contribute hands-on development to automated dependency management tooling • Work across languages and package ecosystems to support dependency updates • Collaborate through pull requests, code review and CI workflows • Take ownership of development tasks and ramp up quickly • Support a coding-heavy project whose tool monitors outdated or vulnerable packages and creates pull requests to update them across multiple package ecosystems • Contribute to a project at a developer platform company; the exact scope between the open-source tool and the platform remains to be confirmed

🎯 Requirements

• Strong hands-on coding and readiness to contribute from day one • Practical coding ability matters more than years of experience • Ruby proficiency • Ability to work with Go and Python • Confident everyday use of AI coding tools, including GitHub Copilot and agentic workflows • Git/GitHub workflows, including pull requests, code review and CI with GitHub Actions • Independent delivery and ownership of substantial work • Good English for meetings, pull requests and issues • Nice to have: knowledge of package managers and ecosystems, including Bundler, npm/yarn, pip/Poetry, Go modules, Maven/Gradle, NuGet and Cargo • Nice to have: experience with dependency management, semantic versioning and supply-chain security, including CVE/advisories • Nice to have: Docker • Nice to have: open-source contributions, especially to relevant developer-platform or dependency-management repositories

• Freelancer / independent contractor arrangement • 60-month contract • 40 hours/week • Remote work • Eastern Europe timezone overlap until 11 AM / 12 PM PT • Target start as soon as possible • Potential phased start, with some engineers starting in 3–4 weeks and others in a second wave
