📋 Description

• Build and operate Alan’s privacy platform and GDPR Orchestrator • Develop core platform engines and safety mechanisms such as preview/dry-run and audit trails • Maintain operational health through deployments, on-call, observability, alerting, and incident response • Design reliable platform contracts for product areas and scale adoption • Create documentation, templates, and self-service tooling for 15+ areas • Coach product areas through pairing and syncs so they can manage their own data rules • Coordinate legal, security, data, and data-producing areas on privacy requirements • Surface cross-area data dependencies and resolve design trade-offs • Advance platform design and capabilities as Alan’s data, products, and geographic footprint grow • Expand platform coverage across data stores and third-party systems • Write and ship production code primarily in Python and TypeScript • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams in a fast-moving, ownership-driven environment

🎯 Requirements

• Senior-level experience, typically 8+ years, in backend or platform software engineering, or equivalent • Deep production ownership, including API and contract design, data modeling, and operating shipped work • Experience building and operating platforms, libraries, or services used by other engineers • Ability to work across many teams and influence legal, security, data, and product crews • Pragmatic approach to shipping safe solutions and improving them over time • Strong plus: prior privacy, GDPR, or data-governance exposure • Strong plus: experience in an enabling or platform-team operating model • Hands-on coding experience with Python and TypeScript • Experience shipping and operating production software, including rollouts, alerting, on-call, and incident response • Ability to write framing documents, map dependencies, and align teams on design decisions • Fluency in English • French is not required • Must be legally eligible to work in France, Belgium, or Spain • Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, France, Spain, or Belgium • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer stated in the application form
