📋 Description

• Provide advice on customs-related issues pertaining to imports • Serve as the primary point of contact for customs-related matters concerning import processes • Handle operational import customs matters • Ensure timely and accurate customs clearance • Prepare applications and maintain customs authorizations for imports • Oversee implementation of customs authorizations • Ensure necessary documentation is in order and communicate with relevant authorities in a timely manner • Review internally generated customs clearance orders for legal validity, completeness, and accuracy • Support responses to inquiries from customs authorities • Resolve internal issues • Assist with inspections and audits

🎯 Requirements

• Completed a commercial apprenticeship or a comparable degree, ideally relating to customs, foreign trade, logistics or law • Several years of experience in the operational and strategic handling of import customs clearance • In-depth knowledge of customs tariff classification, calculations of origin, customs value assessment and customs law in the context of imports • Experience in applying for and managing import customs authorisations • Ability to prepare applications independently and oversee the process from start to finish • Ability to provide confident internal advice, make recommendations ready for decision-making and act as a specialist point of contact • Excellent analytical skills and a good understanding of the procedural interrelationships involved in customs clearance • Good command of MS Office and experience with customs or ERP/logistics systems • Excellent command of written and spoken German and English • A P36-, P37- or P38-certification is an advantage
