📋 Description

• Design mechanical, thermal, and plastic components, including structures, radiators, housings, and ducts • Perform thermal, structural, and fatigue analyses to ensure component integrity • Optimize designs for weight reduction, cost efficiency, and manufacturability using DFM/DFA • Develop 2D/3D technical drawings and documentation, including BOM and GD&T • Validate designs through physical testing such as load, vibration, and corrosion tests • Integrate mechanical, thermal, and electrical systems to ensure overall functionality • Collaborate with CAE, EE, and manufacturing teams to align designs with project requirements • Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards including UL, IEC, and ASME • Contribute to development of an Iron Air Battery, a large-scale energy storage solution

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related fields • 3+ years of experience • Proficiency in SolidWorks • Experience using the Google Suite • Knowledge of thermal system design (e.g., radiators, cooling systems, heat dissipation) • Familiarity with thermal safety standards (e.g., UL 94, IEC 60695) • Experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for structural and fatigue analysis • Knowledge of GD&T and DFM/DFA • Ability to generate 2D/3D technical drawings and BOM • Knowledge of plastic materials (e.g., polypropylene, ABS, PEEK) and their properties • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, thermoforming) • Knowledge of wiring standards (e.g., IPC-A-620) • Ability to design cable routing and harness systems • English level B2–C1 • Preferred: experience in energy storage systems and large-scale mechanical or industrial projects • Preferred: proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW • Preferred: experience with PLM systems such as TeamCenter or Windchill • Preferred: knowledge of safety and industry standards such as NFPA 69, IEC 62485, ASME, ISO • Preferred: experience in certification processes such as UL, IEC, CE • Preferred: experience in design optimization and sustainable design practices • Preferred: understanding of advanced manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing and CNC machining • Preferred: knowledge of material selection for extreme environments • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration • Technical leadership and decision-making capability • Problem-solving and analytical thinking • Time management and ability to operate under tight deadlines • Detail-oriented mindset with strong documentation discipline • Supplier coordination and negotiation skills • Continuous improvement and robust design focus
