📋 Description

• Lead and grow a squad of 4–8 DevOps engineers • Own squad delivery commitments, code and infrastructure quality, and on-call rotation • Work hands-on with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability • Run 1:1s, write performance reviews, and coach career growth • Hire and onboard new engineers • Own squad-level incidents and post-mortems, escalating proactively • Tie squad work to business OKRs/KPIs and represent the squad in planning and cross-team syncs • Build psychological safety and ownership • Remove process, tooling, and technical-debt blockers • Optimize cloud costs • Balance delivery speed against regulatory constraints such as CNBV and Condusef • Communicate risks, trade-offs, priorities, and feedback to reports, peers, stakeholders, and leadership

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering with production ownership • Prior formal or informal team leadership experience, including hiring, mentoring, or incident response • Track record of owning delivery for a team • Comfortable working 40–60% hands-on alongside people management • Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation • Deep knowledge of CI/CD systems and modern delivery practices, including trunk-based development, feature flags, and incremental rollouts • Hands-on AWS experience with Fargate, ECS, EC2, RDS/Postgres, ElastiCache, Lambda, SQS, and Kinesis • Proficiency with observability tools; Datadog preferred • Scripting/automation with Python, Bash, or Node.js/TypeScript • Understanding of cloud security, secret management, and compliance requirements • Experience running 1:1s, giving structured feedback, and writing performance reviews • Ability to hire and onboard engineers and coach career growth across E1–E3 • Ability to make people decisions with fairness and empathy • Strong communication in Spanish, with working English for vendor/partner interactions • Ability to manage ambiguity and changing priorities • Agile mindset and attention to workflow hygiene • Growth mindset • Familiarity with GCP services, MongoDB Atlas or other managed data stores, regulated fintech environments, on-call and incident response processes, and DORA metrics are nice to have
