📋 Description

• Lead and develop the Colombia Finance team, including one local Finance assistant • Own accounting and financial reporting activities for AVEVA’s Colombian legal entity • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes • Review and oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations • Investigate and resolve complex or unusual accounting issues • Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled, supported, and reviewed • Coordinate local statutory accounting and financial statement preparation • Manage and follow up on Colombian tax compliance and tax-related accounting matters • Work with internal Tax teams and external tax advisors • Coordinate and support internal and external audits • Maintain internal controls and compliance with AVEVA policies, SOX requirements, and local regulations • Identify and escalate accounting, tax, financial, operational, and compliance risks • Work with Treasury on local banking, cash management, payments, and treasury activities • Partner with Commercial Finance, Sales, and other stakeholders on Colombian entity finance matters • Support revenue recognition and other accounting assessments • Collaborate with regional and global Finance stakeholders • Drive process improvements, standardisation, and automation in Finance operations • Support regional Finance initiatives and projects

🎯 Requirements

• Strong accounting and financial reporting background, including general ledger, balance sheet management, and month-end/year-end close processes • Strong knowledge of Colombian accounting, statutory, and tax requirements • Demonstrated experience with Colombian tax matters and tax authorities and/or external tax advisors • Experience coordinating statutory audits, tax compliance, and external audit requirements • Experience managing or supervising a Finance or Accounting team • Hands-on ability to investigate issues, understand underlying transactions, and resolve problems • Ability to combine people management with direct involvement in accounting, tax, audit, and control matters • Strong understanding of internal controls, financial controls, and operational risk • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail • Ability to work independently, take ownership, make sound judgments, and escalate issues appropriately • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with local, regional, and global stakeholders • Ability to operate at detailed technical and managerial levels • High integrity and commitment to compliance and ethical standards • Ability to work effectively in a multinational and matrix organisation • Fluent or strong professional English • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field • Strong Microsoft Excel skills • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP/accounting systems • Good understanding of accounting standards and Colombian statutory reporting requirements • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including proof of work authorization and potentially educational attainment, employment history, criminal records, identity, and credit checks • Preferred: experience in a multinational company, regional or global Finance organisation, SOX/internal control environments, Oracle or similar ERP systems, and technology/software/subscription-based businesses • Professional accounting qualification in Colombia is preferred
