📋 Description

• Build product software end to end, including APIs, services, data models, and interfaces in clients' stacks • Take software from a problem statement to production software used by clients' users • Create specifications and tests before implementation • Commit and maintain agent context in repositories • Maintain delivery gates that run on every change • Review every code diff that ships under the engineer's name • Own automated tests, CI/CD, and failure handling • Work inside client environments, repositories, standups, and sometimes customer calls • Build with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex • Use automated codebase audits to identify security, cost, and architecture findings • Work vendor-neutrally across OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-weight models • Use Azumo's Valkyrie production layer when appropriate • Deliver software for client organizations as part of nearshore AI engineering teams

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building and shipping production software in at least one modern language and stack • Engineering fundamentals including testing, code review, CI/CD, Git, containers, and API design • Depth in one stack and willingness to work in another • Practical work with relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and query performance • Integration with third-party APIs and services using REST, OAuth, and JSON • Knowledge of retries, timeouts, and degradation for third-party service failures • Automated testing including unit and integration tests written alongside code • Cloud deployment experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, or Bicep • Daily delivery work with AI coding agents beyond autocomplete, including repository agents, maintained repo-level context, and review of all shipped code • Clear written and spoken English, C1 or above • Confidence explaining technical trade-offs directly to a client • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience • Preferred: Frontend depth with React, Vue, or equivalent framework • Preferred: Mobile delivery, native or cross-platform • Preferred: Building agent tooling such as MCP servers, hooks, sandboxes, or CI gates • Preferred: Performance and cost work on production systems • Preferred: Delivery under SOC 2 or HIPAA compliance • Preferred: Open-source contributions, published technical writing, or active engineering community participation
