📋 Description

• Translate business decisions into measurable questions, success criteria, baselines, and improvement targets • Select and build supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning methods using CNNs, Transformers, and PyTorch • Adapt pretrained and open-weight models using LoRA, QLoRA, or PEFT when appropriate • Design baselines, holdouts, offline and online evaluations, and report uncertainty • Perform error analysis across data, label, method, and framing problems • Package, document, and hand over models with operational success metrics • Work within client repositories and environments, including standups and occasional customer calls • Collaborate in client engagements subject to SOC 2 and potentially HIPAA requirements

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building and validating models against real decisions • Python as primary language • Testing, code review, Git, containers, and version control for data and experiments • Supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods • CNNs and Transformers • Hands-on PyTorch or equivalent framework, including training, custom modules, and optimization • Expert command of pandas, NumPy and scikit-learn • Statistics and experimental design: baselines, holdouts, significance, and confidence assessment • Fine-tuning or adaptation of pretrained models • Error analysis distinguishing data, label, method, and framing problems • Cloud experience with AWS, GCP or Azure and AI services such as Amazon SageMaker, Google Vertex AI or Azure Machine Learning • Active use of AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot • Clear written and spoken English, C1 or above • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
