📋 Description

• Write backend code in Kotlin or Python for the Affirm Card product • Design systems and contribute to implementation • Work cross-functionally with Product, Analytics, and engineering teams to set and execute strategy for the Affirm Card • Build APIs and data models within service-oriented and event-driven architectures • Participate in engineering on-call processes to support team growth and efficiency by reducing toil • Work with the Product team to extend the core decisioning service and build risk and fraud mitigation features

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a backend senior software engineer in either Python or Kotlin • Strong understanding of relational database system best practices • Strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in asynchronous communication, including written technical specifications, wikis, and project plans • Project management skills, high degree of organization, and ability to surface critical information effectively • Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers is a plus • Prior experience with card-related systems is a plus, including Marqeta, Stripe, FIS, card processing, transaction processing, money movement, and ACH
