📋 Description

• Edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos, including brand stories, charity films, corporate and product videos, event videos, and short-form social media content. • Lead the editing of emotional, story-driven projects from interview footage. • Review and organise footage to identify the strongest content and build cohesive narratives. • Research each client's brand, website, target audience, and creative direction before commencing projects. • Deliver strong first cuts and incorporate producer feedback through final approval and delivery. • Recommend improvements to storytelling, pacing, structure, and content formats. • Select and edit music, sound effects, graphics, and titles. • Create motion graphics, animated titles, and visual effects using Adobe After Effects when required. • Perform colour correction, colour grading, and audio mixing. • Export and deliver videos in appropriate formats, resolutions, and aspect ratios for web, social media, and broadcast platforms. • Manage editing projects independently and meet deadlines, quality standards, and client requirements. • Maintain organised project files, footage, creative assets, and backups in team cloud storage. • Use AI tools, editing plugins, and template libraries such as Mister Horse to streamline editing. • Improve editing workflows, establish best practices, and help systematise production processes. • Communicate project progress, timelines, and blockers to producers. • Collaborate with producers and the in-house editing team. • Provide editing support during busy production periods and team leave. • Share editing knowledge, techniques, and best practices. • Keep up to date with editing trends, techniques, software updates, and Adobe Premiere Pro features.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Video Editor, ideally within a video production company or creative agency. • Experience working with Australian companies or Australian clients is strongly preferred. • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is required. • Strong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics, titles, and animation. • A polished portfolio or showreel demonstrating storytelling capabilities across documentary-style films, brand stories, corporate videos, and social content. • Proven experience editing interview-led content and developing emotionally engaging narratives. • Strong understanding of video pacing, music selection, sound design, colour correction, colour grading, and visual composition. • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality first cuts and complete revisions efficiently with minimal supervision. • Familiarity with editing template libraries such as Mister Horse and practical knowledge of AI tools that improve editing efficiency. • Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to understand creative briefs, receive feedback, and implement revisions promptly. • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. • Ability to work independently, demonstrate creative judgement, and take ownership of projects from start to finish. • A genuine passion for video production, creativity, and storytelling.
