📋 Description

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable backend services and APIs for stablecoin issuance, including mint and burn flows, supply management and token configuration • Build compliance controls including freeze, unfreeze, seizure into quarantine, pause and resume, and maker-checker approvals • Integrate backend services with smart contracts on EVM-compatible networks • Ensure blockchain interactions are reliable, idempotent, observable and safe under failure • Build event-driven services and signed webhooks to synchronize issuers, internal systems and ledgers • Maintain complete, tamper-evident audit trails and accurate reconciliation with downstream accounting systems • Collaborate with digital assets, ledger, identity and access, financial crime and security teams • Contribute to architecture decisions, review code, mentor engineers and champion engineering best practices • Own production services, including monitoring, alerting, incident response and reliability/performance improvements • Work in an autonomous squad with Product, Design and engineering domains to deliver customer-focused solutions

🎯 Requirements

• Strong, proven experience as a backend engineer building production systems, ideally in Java; Kotlin also welcome • Experience with Spring Boot • Hands-on experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures, ideally with Kafka or similar messaging platforms • Experience building high-integrity transactional systems where correctness, idempotency, consistency and auditability are critical • Experience designing clean, well-documented REST APIs • Experience with secure webhook integrations for external customers • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS • Experience with containerisation and CI/CD pipelines • Solid grasp of secure coding practices, access control and role-based permissions in regulated environments • Ability to take ownership of outcomes and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders • Ability to work in a fast-moving, collaborative environment • Use of AI tools and agentic workflows to speed up delivery and improve quality • Bonus: Experience with EVM-compatible networks, ERC-20 tokens, smart contract interaction or Solidity • Bonus: Experience with stablecoin issuance, tokenisation, custody or wallet infrastructure • Bonus: Familiarity with sanctions screening, Travel Rule or other regulatory controls for digital assets • Bonus: Experience in payments, banking or other regulated financial services
