📋 Description

• Identify trends impeding students’ academic success • Conduct targeted outreach and provide instruction to groups and individuals • Mentor and teach students in CSE 110, CSE 111, CSE 210, and CSE 212 • Support students using Python and C# programming content • Facilitate learning through posts, announcements, emails, one-on-one virtual meetings, and videos • Respond promptly to student questions and concerns about course content and assignments • Communicate regularly with students about participation and performance • Execute class-wide, group-wide, and individual outreach plans based on student trends and needs • Track communication histories and student interactions and plan follow-ups • Participate in periodic training exercises and team meetings • Apply training and evaluation feedback to improve performance • Instructors teach and oversee course delivery; they do not develop lessons or assessments or issue grades

🎯 Requirements

• Candidates must be fluent in English and submit their application in English • Only candidates currently living in and authorized to work in Brazil are eligible • Fluency in English and Portuguese required • Deep understanding of and commitment to BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s mission, defining characteristics, and student population • Adaptability to new processes, procedures, and technologies • Excellent interpersonal skills; professional, respectful, and unbiased in sensitive situations • Proven reliability and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, video conferencing, and discipline-specific software • Experience with online teaching/learning, especially with at-risk learners preferred • Completed bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement; in-progress transcripts and associate-level degrees are not acceptable • Experience with Python, C#, or Java required • Expert proficiency with basic programming concepts, including variables, data types, collections, loops, functions, libraries, I/O, error handling, and testing • Expert proficiency with basic object-oriented programming concepts, including classes, methods, variables, and access modifiers • Familiarity with data structures and algorithms • Understanding of abstraction, encapsulation, polymorphism, and inheritance • Experience with version control software such as GitHub • Experience with code editors such as Visual Studio Code • Ability to communicate clearly in writing • Candidates advancing to the next stage must provide official transcripts and a copy of the completed degree diploma • Academic documents must be officially recognized in Brazil and the country of origin
