📋 Description

• Serve as the final technical authority during critical incidents where standard escalations have proven ineffective. • Lead deep-dive forensic analyses to identify root cause and provide immediate workarounds or permanent fixes. • Utilize advanced debugging and packet analysis to isolate complex network anomalies. • Provide real-time technical intervention to restore service availability during major outages. • Conduct independent, peer-level reviews of proposed architectural changes, capacity upgrades, and new site deployments. • Identify hidden risks, single points of failure, and configuration vulnerabilities in proposed network designs. • Provide a "Red Team" perspective on network changes to ensure they meet the highest standards of stability and performance. • Validate complex route redistribution strategies, BGP policy implementations, and high-availability designs prior to production deployment. • Provide expert guidance on lifecycle management, technology roadmaps, and hardware/software selections. • Assist in the technical evaluation of new Cisco platforms (e.g., Catalyst 9000 series, Nexus 9k) to ensure compatibility and optimal configuration. • Advise leadership on high-risk technical decisions, translating complex network issues into clear business impact assessments. • Contribute to the development of network standards, best practices, and operational runbooks. • Guide internal engineering teams through complex resolution processes to facilitate knowledge transfer during engagements. • Conduct post-incident reviews and provide detailed root-cause analysis reports. • Recommend proactive measures and architectural improvements to prevent recurrence of critical incidents.

🎯 Requirements

• Active CCIE Certification (Enterprise Infrastructure or Routing & Switching) is mandatory. • Minimum of 10+ years of experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical, and global Cisco environments. • Demonstrable experience supporting mission-critical Cisco environments with thousands of users and multiple data centers. • Proven track record of successfully resolving complex, multi-vendor network incidents at the highest technical level. • Expert-level command of OSPF (multi-area, LSA types, summarization) and EIGRP. • Advanced BGP configuration, policy-based routing, route filtering, AS-Path manipulation, and complex route redistribution strategies. • Deep understanding of MPLS L3VPNs, L2VPNs, and/or Segment Routing (SR-MPLS) is highly desirable. • Advanced design and troubleshooting of VSS (Virtual Switching System) and StackWise Virtual. • Expert knowledge of stateful failover mechanisms, NSF (Non-Stop Forwarding), and graceful restart. • In-depth knowledge of campus and data center switching architectures, spanning-tree optimization, VLAN design, and QoS implementations. • Familiarity with VXLAN, EVPN, and Cisco ACI is considered a strong asset. • Demonstrated ability to function clearly and effectively during high-stakes, high-pressure outages. • Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical executives (CTO, CIO) in clear business terms. • Must be able to respond to selective engagement requests with urgency (specific SLA for response to activation required). • Ability to operate autonomously, providing unbiased, peer-level analysis without reliance on vendor scripts.

🏖️ Benefits

• Clear scope with no ambiguity over deliverables • Opportunity for repeat engagements based on performance
