📋 Description

• Perform, interpret, and report diagnostic imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, and specialized examinations • Provide clinically appropriate assessments and reports in line with clinical guidelines and best practices • Ensure timely reporting to facilitate patient management and workflow • Perform fluoroscopy and specialized ultrasound examinations where applicable • Interpret and report emergency imaging within required turnaround times • Provide consultation to referring clinicians during working hours and scheduled on-call periods • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on diagnosis and treatment planning • Participate in MDT discussions, clinical case reviews, departmental meetings, clinical meetings, and quality improvement initiatives • Develop work schedules and manage reporting workloads with the Head of Department and team • Maintain accurate, comprehensive radiology reports within agreed service-level turnaround times • Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and professional radiology standards • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies • Use PACS, RIS, EMR, hospital information systems, and teleradiology platforms • Conduct scientific research and contribute to publications where applicable • Participate in peer review and quality assurance programs • Perform other duties assigned by management within the role’s scope

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent qualification recognized by KMPDC • Master of Medicine (MMed) in Radiology and Imaging or equivalent postgraduate qualification recognized by KMPDC • Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) • Recognized as a Specialist by the KMPDC • Valid KMPDC Practising Licence • Professional Medical Indemnity Insurance Cover • Proficiency in computer applications and Hospital Information Systems • Minimum 5 years’ post-specialization experience as a practicing Radiologist in a busy hospital or diagnostic imaging centre • Experience interpreting CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Digital X-ray examinations • Experience using PACS, RIS, and EMR • Proficiency in virtual healthcare technologies and teleradiology platforms • Strong report-writing, diagnostic, analytical, and clinical decision-making skills • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Ability to prioritize workload and meet reporting turnaround times • High ethical standards, professionalism, and integrity • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is an added advantage
