📋 Description
• Apply quantitative and geospatial methods to identify high-priority programs, geographic targeting opportunities, and health system efficiencies • Support creation of cost-effectiveness models for evidence-based program decision-making • Use large-scale datasets, including GBD, DHS, national surveys, IHME datasets, and implementation cost data, to inform program design and prioritization • Collaborate across disease and geographic programs to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure models reflect program realities • Prepare evidence-based materials for major funders and funding conversations • Support design and implementation of new pilot programs using evidence and data • Pressure-test program theories of change through literature review, assumption interrogation, causal pathway analysis, and counterfactual assessment • Collaborate with country teams and government partners to ensure intervention feasibility and alignment with national health systems
🎯 Requirements
• Postgraduate degree in epidemiology, economics, or a related quantitative discipline • 3+ years of experience applying quantitative methods to global health or development challenges • Experience with cost-effectiveness analysis, impact evaluations, and mathematical modeling • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, including pressure-testing complex theories of change • Excellent data management and statistical analysis skills using Stata, R, or SAS • Experience in cost-effectiveness modeling and evaluation design, including causal inference using observational data • Experience assessing and reconciling data quality issues across large survey and administrative datasets in multi-country settings • Strong understanding of low- and middle-income country health systems, data limitations, operational constraints, and government and partner ecosystems • Strong communication skills and ability to present quantitative findings to donors, government stakeholders, and diverse audiences • Demonstrated fluency using AI tools to synthesize information and produce analytical outputs, with ability to critically evaluate and improve AI-generated work • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment • Commitment to collaborative work with a remote, geographically dispersed team across multiple time zones • Fluency in English • Experience using geospatial methods for budget optimization, program targeting, or subnational prioritization is an advantage • Proficiency in languages spoken in CHAI countries is preferred
