📋 Description

• Maintain safe navigation by standing watch, monitoring bridge/navigation equipment, and ensuring safe vessel operation in port and at sea • Prepare and manage voyage plans, including environmental compliance and adherence to MARPOL and local regulations • Keep navigational charts, publications, equipment logs, and merchant flags updated and compliant with the latest requirements • Manage port-related information and documentation, including port questionnaires, traffic, tidal/current data, and voyage technical itineraries • Support vessel safety, security, and regulatory compliance by performing emergency duties, monitoring communication systems including GMDSS tests, and maintaining required documentation such as radio logs • Join the Cruise fleet of Columbia Shipmanagement as a 1st Officer specializing in polar navigation

🎯 Requirements

• Valid COC (STCW Reg II/2) with verification • Valid STCW certifications required for the position • Excellent knowledge of ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other maritime regulations • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and crisis management skills • Advanced English level • Safety culture and mindset • Experience with multicultural working environment • Substantial experience in the same rank on cruise ships • COP BASIC POLAR WATERS • Experience sailing in ice and polar waters
