📋 Description

• Build, populate and maintain the enterprise business glossary and data catalogue in Microsoft Purview • Administer the tooling so the catalogue does not decay after go-live • Engage data owners, stewards and subject matter experts to agree and publish common definitions for critical data elements • Resolve conflicting data definitions to a single agreed source and enforce metadata standards • Capture and maintain end-to-end lineage for critical data elements across the full pipeline • Establish change impact analysis to identify and warn about affected downstream reports, models and consumers • Translate business risk into testable data quality rules • Implement automated, monitored data quality checks with dashboards, thresholds and exception routes • Profile data and lead root cause analysis on quality issues through to conclusion • Manage the data quality issues log end to end • Support preventative controls at the point of data capture or ingestion • Support implementation of the data governance framework, policies and standards • Produce clear, user-friendly documentation and guidance • Help embed the ownership and stewardship model • Contribute to governance KPIs and KRIs • Work with business stakeholders and data leadership to establish and adopt new processes and artefacts

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience, typically 3+ years, in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management or a closely adjacent role in a large or complex organization • Demonstratable hands-on experience of at least two of: Business Glossary, Data Catalogue, Data lineage or Data Quality • Experience with Microsoft Purview is desirable • Practical experience implementing or configuring a data governance or cataloguing tool • Proven ability to bridge business and technology • Experience working in S4/Hana or SAP environment is desirable • Experience in a regulated industry is desirable • Experience with dedicated data quality or observability tooling is desirable • Exposure to master and reference data management is desirable • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
