📋 Description

• Verify that infrastructure implementations match the security model continuously. • Build automated compliance checks and drift detection using AWS Config, Steampipe, or custom tooling. • Review Terraform pull requests for IAM, SCP, and network security gaps before production deployment. • Own the credential lifecycle, including rotation, PAM, JIT access, and session recording. • Write and tune detection rules in OpenSearch SIEM. • Build evidence dashboards that demonstrate security posture to non-security leadership. • Evaluate security tooling using build-versus-buy analysis and document tradeoffs and recommendations. • Own the infrastructure security posture from access and control modelling through practical verification.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in infrastructure or security engineering, including at least 2 years focused on AWS security. • Advanced IAM knowledge, including policy evaluation logic, permission boundaries, and cross-account access patterns. • Experience building automated security checks that run in production. • Ability to read and critically review Terraform for security posture. • Experience operating PAM tooling or credential rotation in production. • Ability to own a security domain end-to-end without constant direction. • Experience at an organization with fewer than 500 people as one of very few or the only security engineer (strong advantage). • Experience with multi-account AWS Organizations and SCPs (strong advantage). • Production SIEM detection-rule experience with OpenSearch, Splunk, Elastic, or another platform (strong advantage). • Regulated fintech, exchange, or payments background (strong advantage). • Experience building security evidence/reporting used by non-security stakeholders (strong advantage).
