📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend applications • Design the Oracle database storage schema for a new application • Support the planning and execution of a future MySQL-to-Oracle migration • Develop and optimize SQL queries to improve database performance • Troubleshoot complex application and database issues in production environments • Support production database operations and implement changes with minimal downtime • Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit and Mockito • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical design and implementation decisions • Create and maintain technical documentation for relevant project activities • Contribute to a large-scale platform modernization initiative • Help consolidate multiple platforms around Oracle • Improve the performance and reliability of a business-critical platform serving 100k users

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building, debugging, and optimizing scalable Java backend applications • Strong proficiency in Java 8–17, object-oriented design, design patterns, multithreading, and concurrency • Hands-on Oracle development experience in production • Strong knowledge of database internals, including indexing, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and transaction behavior • Advanced SQL skills, including performance troubleshooting • Experience with production database operations, including backup/restore, high availability, disaster recovery, and failover • Experience executing database changes with minimal downtime • Experience writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP • Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools • Hands-on Linux/Unix experience • Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages • Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical tasks, and proactively identify and resolve blockers • Strong communication skills • Experience collaborating with cross-functional Scrum teams and leading technical discussions • Upper-Intermediate+ English level • Oracle DBA experience in production is desirable • Experience with major Oracle version upgrades or large-scale database migrations is desirable • Oracle certification is desirable • Experience with Groovy and Gradle is desirable • Experience with CI/CD pipelines is desirable
