📋 Description

• Build, orchestrate, and maintain data pipelines on the GCP stack • Use BigQuery and dbt for data modeling • Use PySpark and Parquet for large-scale processing • Use Dagster for orchestration • Develop deep understanding of core data models for collaboration with Data Science and Data Operations • Maintain trusted, well-understood datasets that enable self-service • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to derive and define requirements • Document, simplify, and explain complex problems to different audiences • Establish best practices for specialized datasets used in analytics and modeling • Ensure the accuracy and scalability of Subscriber Metrics • Own data-delivery reliability and serve as subject matter expert for the delivery pipeline • Report to the VP, Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in software engineering, including at least 3 years focused on data infrastructure or platform engineering • Production pipeline experience in BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks using dbt, SQL, or Spark and Dagster, Airflow, or a comparable orchestrator • Expertise with SQL and at least one general-purpose programming language, preferably Python • Experience building pipelines, custom integrations, automation scripts, and occasional web services • Ability to navigate complex unfamiliar systems and solve difficult problems independently • Effective communication with cross-functional teammates and stakeholders • Understanding of data-system testability • Experience using AI tools and automation pragmatically to improve work • English proficiency in a professional setting • Preferably based in a US time zone: Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific • Bonus: backend web-service design and implementation • Bonus: GCP or AWS resource management using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation • Bonus: maintainable system design for challenging customer problems • Bonus: industry experience with receipt, transaction, or viewership data • Bonus: data architecture and governance experience
