📋 Description

• Stay current on changes in cost accounting standards and best practices • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to support timely and accurate financial reporting • Review inventory movements, standard versus actual costs, and variance accounts • Support ERP implementation and integration to improve cost accounting processes and data accuracy • Support the Finance team with ad hoc projects and special reports • Maintain accurate financial records and collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Accounting to streamline financial processes • Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports, cost forecasts, budgets, financial analyses, and cost audits • Monitor inventory accuracy, including packaging • Perform account reconciliations for all variance accounts • Maintain and analyze cost data, ensuring accurate allocation of labor, materials, and overhead • Provide variance analysis, cost-related investigations, operational insights, and decision support • Contribute to ERP, reporting, automation, workflow, and financial process improvement initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline • CPA designation strongly preferred • Significant experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing accounting, retail accounting, or a similarly operational environment • Strong understanding of cost allocation methodologies, inventory accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, complex formulas, financial modeling, and large dataset analysis • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, investigate root causes, and recommend practical solutions • Strong attention to detail combined with an ability to see the broader business impact • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Ownership mindset with a track record of improving processes rather than simply maintaining them • Helpful experience in food manufacturing, food distribution, consumer products, logistics, supply chain, trading, or retail environments • Experience working in high-growth organizations • ERP implementation, automation, systems integration, or business intelligence project experience • Experience supporting U.S.-based companies while working remotely within global teams
