• Manage social media accounts, ensuring consistent voice, tone, and community engagement across platforms • Lead day-to-day social content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and management • Develop and maintain social content calendars informed by digital trends, cultural moments, and audience insights • Create engaging social content as needed — copy, graphics, short-form video, and real-time content — using basic video and photo editing to produce assets • Monitor social engagement, audience sentiment, and community feedback to inform content strategy and optimize performance • Attend artist events, activations, and live moments to capture content and support real-time engagement • Own influencer and creator seeding end to end for releases across West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana), East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda), and South Africa — sourcing, vetting, briefing creators, and managing deliverables • Drive TikTok dance and sound challenges and UGC across all African genres, building relationships with creators, dancers, skit-makers, DJs, talent managers, and agencies across the continent • Tailor each campaign to the platforms that move in-market — YouTube, Boomplay, Audiomack, TikTok, Instagram, and X, plus Spotify and Apple Music where they over-index — with data-light, WhatsApp-friendly activations and localized creative • Coordinate diaspora seeding (UK, US, and beyond), negotiate rates and contracts in local currencies, and manage campaign budgets to hit targets • Support the planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns across social and online platforms • Track, measure, and report on performance (social engagement, sound usage, UGC volume, streams across Boomplay/Audiomack/YouTube/Spotify, reach, conversions) and build live dashboards for real-time reporting • Use ChatGPT and other AI tools to optimize and automate outreach, briefing, and reporting workflows • Track requests and organize workflow with Asana • Manage communication between the Digital team and any third-party vendors • Partner cross-functionally with Digital Ads, Socials, Design, A&R, Finance, regional label teams, and artists, and advise on social best practices and emerging digital opportunities • Any additional duties as assigned
• Several years of experience across social media, community, and/or influencer/creator and seeding campaigns, with a track record of driving viral moments in African markets • Deep, current knowledge of the music scenes, creator ecosystems, digital platforms, and online culture across West, East, and Southern Africa • An existing network of creator, influencer, and agency relationships across the regions • Fluency in the platform landscape (Boomplay, Audiomack, Mdundo, YouTube, TikTok) and how it differs market to market • Ability to generate content ideas and stay ahead of emerging trends, with hands-on content creation and basic video/photo editing • Cultural and linguistic fluency and sensitivity across diverse markets • Strong negotiation skills and comfort managing budgets in multiple currencies • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • You understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion • A "no job too small" attitude • Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time and complete tasks fully through • You're not afraid to ask questions and learn as you work • You're extremely detail oriented • You're extremely organized • Be a team player, open to feedback and strong communication • Willingness to travel across markets; based in or willing to relocate to a primary hub (Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, or Johannesburg)
